Data is the new gold: How firms will
leverage data and tech to build better operations

VENUE/FORMAT: Webinar

DATE: Thursday 27th June

TIME: 16:00 – 17:30, including time for Q&A

At the massive and influential CLOC (Corporate Legal Operations Consortium) Global Institute event in the US in May, President Jenn McCarron kicked off her address by stating that “data is the new gold.” She echoed a whole series of leading commentators and influencers who believe that, in part due to the revolutionary power of generative AI, data can now be harnessed by lawyers in incredibly powerful ways that will transform the sector.

What does this mean on the ground, inside law firms? The tsunami of opinion and prediction about the impact of data-led AI is typically focused on the practice of law and client-facing innovation. We want to shine a light on the business of what impacts law firm operations. How will firms work differently, deliver smarter and faster internal processes, and make workplaces and other resources better? At this Summer 2024 edition of LOAF, we will consider how leveraging the power of data might hold the key to exponential improvement in law firm operations and administration.

Facilitated by our Chris Bull, Edge International consultant and author, the forum will feature expert input from leading legal technology and knowledge consultant Paul Longhurst from 3kites; Eddie Twemlow, Head of Operations and Technology at Burges Salmon LLP; and Williams Lea’s CTO, Nick Morgan. We will also hear directly from law firm leaders about their recent experience of data-led back office initiatives.

This event will be held virtually to ensure that leaders and professionals in law firm operations, administration, workplace, and office services can join us from any location. We are committed to creating an inclusive experience that connects us all, no matter where we are.
