Williams Lea holds ribbon cutting for multi-million-dollar renovations to the Stone Center

WHEELING, W.VA (Thursday, October 3, 2024) – Global tech-enabled business support services firm Williams Lea today held a ribbon cutting to celebrate the completion of a multi-million-dollar renovation project to their offices in the Stone Center.

The renovations included improvements to client workspaces, collaborative spaces and the addition of an employee fitness center. The renovation also improved the building’s sustainability through the addition of a high-efficiency HVAC system and renewable energy sources.

Building owner Regional Economic Development Partnership (RED) worked with city and state leadership to help fund the project. RED received financial support from the City of Wheeling, as well as contributions from the West Virginia Department of Economic Development.

William Lea has occupied the Stone Center since 2005. In those nearly 20 years, the Wheeling Onshore Delivery Center has grown from 30 to over 540 employees serving global clients in the legal, financial and professional services sectors. Williams Lea is one of the top employers in downtown Wheeling.

“Our Wheeling operations’ teams provide essential business support solutions for some of the world’s largest global organizations,” said Williams Lea CEO Clare Hart. “We chose to open our first onshore delivery center here because of Wheeling’s hospitable business climate, skilled labor market, close-knit community and hometown feel. In the 20 years we have been in Wheeling, those attributes have only strengthened.”

Williams Lea has been working with RED since the organization began considering Wheeling as a location for a delivery center in the early 2000s. RED provides resources to help create business opportunities, new jobs and economic development in Ohio, Marshall and Wetzel Counties.

“As a regional organization, RED is very excited to see Williams Lea continue to invest and offer gainful employment to hundreds of residents throughout our community,” said RED CEO Josh Jefferson. “Through a collaborative effort with the State of West Virginia and the City of Wheeling, the leadership team and employees of Williams Lea are playing a significant role in continuing the momentum taking place in the northern panhandle and throughout the Mountain State.”

Jefferson added, “We are proud to partner with Williams Lea and look forward to supporting their continued success and future growth.”
